The best remedy for noise: a tunnel
HIGHWAY TUNNEL, HH-STELLINGEN The outskirts of metropolitan areas are subject to the tension between increasing traffic on the one hand and growing residential areas on the other. The solution is to tunnel under major traffic routes such as the A7 in the Stellingen area between Kieler Straße and the freight bypass. The nearly one-kilometer-long tunnel is a showcase transportation project for the Hanseatic city of Hamburg.

960 m of tunnel with two tubes and eight lanes have to be planned carefully and perfectly - after all, the construction costs amount to 100 million euros. Bluhm Partner undertook the reinforcement planning for the tunnel ceilings and noise barriers, as well as the formwork planning and reinforcement planning for an operations building and the emergency staircase. Together, they produced 185 detailed execution drawings, which formed the basis for the successful completion of the project on schedule.
