Federal Press Conference Centre

Developer: Allianz Real Estate
Architects: Nalbach + Nalbach
Service: Formwork and reinforcement planning
Budget: €35 million

With the German government's relocation to Berlin, the Verein der Bundespressekonferenz (Association of the Federal Press Conference) also moved its headquarters to the capital. The new centre was built by Allianz Immobilien GmbH based on a design by architects Nalbach + Nalbach. A challenge was provided by the very dense situation on the banks of the river Spree, with three basement levels and a large-span pre-stressed concrete structure above the large press room. Our Lothar Bluhm engineering office created the formwork and reinforcement planning for the Federal Press Conference Centre.
